Decentralized Authentication Tools
Wallet-based and cryptographic login flows instead of a central account database.
Some overlap in mechanism. Decentralized.Host authorizes with attenuable, expiring capability chains of Ed25519 signatures anchored in the cluster root, not passwords -- but for operators and hosts of one cluster, not end users of applications.
What this typically means
Rather than a username/password checked against a company's account database, decentralized authentication proves identity cryptographically: "Sign-In with Ethereum" (a standardized flow, EIP-4361) has a site ask your wallet to sign a specific, time-limited message, and if the signature checks out against your public address, you're authenticated -- no password to leak, no central database of credentials to breach, though the site still needs its own session/authorization logic on top.
