Decentralized Compute Tools

Running workloads across independently operated machines instead of one cloud provider's datacenters.

Real connection to Decentralized.Host

This is the closest topic. Decentralized.Host runs workloads on hosts that each decide, under their own policy, whether to run what a replicated control plane proposes. It is not an open marketplace: hosts join a cluster by operator invite, and independent clusters cooperate only through signed federation agreements.

The core idea

Decentralized compute networks let anyone with spare hardware -- a home server, an idle VPS, a rack in a colo -- register that capacity with a scheduler, and let workloads (containers, VMs, batch jobs) run on whichever registered machine has room, instead of all running on one company's owned datacenters. This is sometimes called DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network) when there's a token-incentive layer paying operators for verified uptime or work done.
