IPFS Tools
Working with the InterPlanetary File System -- adding, pinning, and retrieving content-addressed files.
Decentralized.Host does not use IPFS. It shares ideas (content addressing, chunking, Merkle roots) but its store is private to one cluster.
The basics
IPFS identifies content by the hash of its bytes (a CID), not by a location, so the same file added from two different machines produces the same identifier. Nodes running the IPFS daemon (kubo is the reference implementation) can fetch content from any peer that has it, and "pinning" a CID tells your own node (or a pinning service) to keep a copy so it doesn't disappear if the original uploader goes offline.
