Multi-sig Wallet Tools
Requiring multiple signatures to authorize a transaction.
No multi-signature feature exists. Some operations use two signatures (host key rotation is signed by old and new keys; root rotation is signed by the old root), but there is no multi-party approval.
The core idea
A multi-sig wallet requires M-of-N signatures (e.g., 2 of 3 designated keyholders) to authorize a transaction, rather than any single key being sufficient -- protecting against one compromised or lost key being catastrophic, and often used for DAO treasuries or team-controlled funds where no individual should unilaterally control significant value. Gnosis Safe is the dominant EVM implementation; Solana has its own native multi-sig program support (Squads is a common interface for it).
