A VPS is a reasonable place to run a host (dh-noded) or a control-plane member (dh-control). Decentralized.Host does not create, patch or manage the VPS itself -- only the work it admits.

What VPS management covers

A VPS (virtual private server) gives you root access to an isolated slice of a physical machine -- your own IP, your own OS, your own processes -- without owning hardware. "Managing" one covers the full lifecycle: provisioning (choosing a region/size and booting it, via a provider's API or console), securing it (SSH key-only login, a firewall, unattended security updates), keeping services running (systemd units, process supervisors, restart policies), and monitoring (is it up, is disk filling, is memory exhausted).
