The core security model
A crypto wallet is fundamentally a keypair: a private key that can sign transactions (moving funds, approving actions) and a public key/address others can send to. "Managing" a wallet well means never exposing that private key -- hardware wallets keep it on a dedicated offline device, software wallets encrypt it at rest, and the cardinal rule ("not your keys, not your coins") is about custody: whoever holds the private key has full, unrecoverable control, with no password reset if it's lost.
